The 4th of July. A celebration of independence where the original 13 colonies declared themselves to be a new nation. A nation that I was born into and a nation that I’ll leave only at my death. The past 241 years have been both exciting and tumultuous. Future generations won’t know what hit them as the 4th of July’s great intent on being a free nation fades from people’s memories.
I don’t fault anyone for celebrating on the 4th of July. As, that’s the intent and meaning of what freedom should be all about. There are some that are downright mean assed people that are willing to go to any extent to take those freedoms from you.
Even though this is slightly related, and I mean slightly. Most cities around where I live don’t allow for fireworks to be lite off. Not even in your front yard. But, we can go congregate into very large groups 5k 10K some places, fight traffic and well. I’d wish we could have our own celebrations again.
We must all stand up for freedom. Just because we have freedom that does not mean, stealing or harming others, those that are strong should protect the weak. Freedom means to do the right thing, the just thing for all peoples. That’s why I and many family members joined the Army, Navy, Airforce and Marines. That’s right we believe in freedom and that’s why we all served.
I’m not nor will never be perfect. But, I will stand up for freedom!
