Yeah, I know. 🙂 This movie scared the crap out of me when I was younger. When the creature would appear I would cover my head
with a blanket until the creature was out of the scene. The movies today, make movies of yesterday seem like backyard productions put on by the local kids. Not that back yard productions by kids is a bad thing, I had my share of backyard plays. Now when I see this movie I can truly laugh but still marvel at the way movies had to be made. Oh, how things have changed.
This was a fun image to make. I had this idea similar to how I would merger two images in photo shop set the opacity to around 10% and would have this cool image. Like I did with this image.
Moonlit Moonshine’s Drive-In contained the poster that I used in the creation of this image. I added that image to a “primitive plane” and turned the plan at 90 degree angle to make simulated backdrop. By setting the cutout opacity to 10% gave the image a see thru quality which I really liked. I actually pulled this image into photoshop, duplicated the layer and selected multiply which I liked on this image.

SOME IMAGE SETUP AND EXPLINATION
This is the main view camera image. It is a mixture of several items from various sources but all came together the way I wanted.
before rendering.
I used this setting on the creature because I wanted it slightly larger.
Set scale size to around 122%
Image with “Primitive Plane”
I added a simple plane primitive with a 3*3 size and added the image from Moonshine Diner. And, positioned plane between creature and sage. I used Sage because It was always funny to see the clueless people not getting together in these old flicks to help each other. 🙂 This clueless expression and pose did the trick. Running over the same old ground. Oops got that song going on in my head. After I had everything positioned I set the opacity cut out of the plane. Which gave it the transparency I was looking for.
