Ghost Towns Are Fun?
I’ve visited so many cool places growing up. I especially loved the old route 66 and visiting ghost towns. Well, they weren’t really ghost towns in the early 60’s when most of our route 66 travel took place.
This another rambling and a short jaunt down memory lane. Lately I’ve been doing a lot of memory jogs. It’s fun researching and reminiscing about my families travels when I was young.
We’ve traveled back and forth across the country every few years as a kid. Always something new with my mom. As she loved to explore and learn new things.
While those travels were fun and the explorations were fantastic. On occasion I feel that our travels later in life kept us away from our close cousins. We had to make friends pretty quick when we moved to new locations.
Time to dust off the toys and hit the road again. Lots more to see and do. 🙂
Memories Along Route 66
Ghost Towns Everywhere
There old ghost towns found in so many places. Mostly ruins now but a few are maintained for you to explore. In Washington State for example. http://www.ghosttownsofwashington.com/
Route 66 Gas Station

I really think that this site has some great information on route 66. I especially enjoy the old photos and images. https://www.theroute-66.com/americana.html.
So, get out and visit some local ghost towns in your area. And, yest they do exist. You just need to do a little digging. Visiting ghost towns is a very fun thing to do.
Some Quotes I like
Try to forget what objects you have before you – a tree, a house, a field, or whatever. Merely think, ‘Here is a little square of blue, here an oblong of pink, here a streak of yellow,’ and paint it just as it looks to you, the exact color and shape, until it gives you your own impression of the scene before you. Claude Monet
I’ve got quite a vivid imagination and I’m easily overwhelmed by sensations and things that are beautiful or scary. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a ghost – I think I’m probably haunted by my own ghosts than real ones. Florence Welch
