Hi there! I wanted to share a few of my favorite things that I enjoy doing on Cinco de Mayo. I love this holiday because it’s a great excuse to celebrate Mexican culture and enjoy some delicious food and drinks with friends and family.
First and foremost, I always make sure to have some tasty tacos on hand. Whether I make them myself or order them from a local restaurant, there’s nothing quite like biting into a warm, flavorful taco on Cinco de Mayo. I also love to whip up a big batch of guacamole to serve with chips and salsa. Not worried about my weight at this point LOL.
Of course, no Cinco de Mayo celebration is complete without a few Margarita Mocktails! I like to try different healthy Mocktails (RECIPES BELOW). And if I’m feeling really ambitious and can stand long enough, I might even try my hand at making some homemade tamales.
Cinco de Mayo is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy some delicious food, Mocktails, and festivities with loved ones. Whether you’re hosting a big party or simply enjoying a quiet evening at home, there are plenty of ways to celebrate this fun holiday.
Cinco de Mayo – May 5th
Cinco de Mayo, which means “Fifth of May” in Spanish, is a holiday that commemorates the Mexican Army’s victory over French forces at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862. It is a relatively minor holiday in Mexico, but it is widely celebrated in the United States.
Celebration Of Mexican Culture And Heritage
The reason for this is because Cinco de Mayo has become a celebration of Mexican culture and heritage in the United States. Mexican-Americans and other Americans of all backgrounds celebrate the day with parades, parties, and cultural events. The holiday provides an opportunity to celebrate and recognize the contributions of Mexican-Americans to American society.
Food And Beverage
Cinco de Mayo has also been heavily promoted by the food and beverage industry, with many restaurants and bars offering specials on Mexican food and drinks. This has helped to make the holiday a popular celebration across the United States, even in areas with little or no Mexican-American population.
