Cookies On A Whim
Today I made up a recipe and I made some bite sized cookies. just added stuff no official recipe. This is what I added.
- 3 cups flour – This is the foundation of your cookies, giving them structure.
- 2 cups oatmeal – This gives your cookies a chewy texture and a subtly nutty flavor.
- 1/2 cup cornmeal – A surprising but innovative addition, this will make your cookies slightly crunchy with a hint of sweet, earthy flavor.
- 1/2 cup powdered whole milk – This will lend a creamy taste to your cookies.
- 1 3/4 cup sugar – The main source of sweetness in your cookies.
- 1 TBSP baking soda – You used this instead of baking powder, a common leavening agent, to help your cookies rise. It can sometimes give a metallic taste if not balanced with an acidic ingredient, but I didn’t experience this, which is great!
- 3 sticks butter – This gives your cookies a rich and delicious flavor.
- 4 eggs – These bind your ingredients together and add moisture to your cookies.
- Blue food color – A fun addition that doesn’t affect the flavor but will make your cookies look exciting and unique!
- 1 TBSP orange citrus – This is an excellent flavor choice that gives your cookies a bright, zesty note.
Oven at 375 for 15 minutes.

Enjoy and let me know if you’ve tried them!
And, before you get to baking here is a poem to help the process:

A dash of cornmeal to surprise, Under the oven’s heat, it rises. Powdered milk and sugar sweet, An experimental treat so neat.
Baking soda to lift and fluff, Butter and eggs, just enough. A drop of blue to catch the eye, Like little cookie skies, oh my!
Orange citrus, a zesty twist, Such a flavor can’t resist. An innovative baking spree, A big kid’s joy and mastery.
A bite-sized cookie, taste supreme, Baking’s not always as it seems. So, mix and stir, let your heart roam, In the kitchen, we find home.
